However, in addition to our normal hours, we are open until 6pm on the Friday evening prior to the sale and from 8.30am on the morning of the sale.

CHARLES RENNIE MACKINTOSH - An oak upright cabinet originally one of a pair from the Blue bedroom of Hous'hill Nitshill Glasgow, owned by Miss Catherine Cranston the tea room owner - The cabinet is missing its stained glass and mother of pearl insert and has a damaged handle, otherwise generally good, it measures 167.5cm H x 38cm W x 34cm D - In 1919 Kate Cranston left Hous'hill leaving the Mackintosh furniture in the house which eventually passed to Edward Arthur Gamble and was then auctioned by J and R Edmiston on May 13th 1933, in 1934 a fire damaged the house and it was eventually demolished Reference - Charles Rennie Mackintosh Complete Furniture, Furniture Drawings and Interior Design, Roger Billcliffe
